UNESCO celebrates the 100th anniversary of Azerbaijani writer and playwright Ilyas Afandiyev in Paris

The 100 years anniversary of National Writer of Azerbaijan Ilyas Afandiyev marked today at the UNESCO headquarters in Paris.100 anniversary of writer, a prominent playwright, winner of the State Prize of Azerbaijan, holder of the Order “Shohrat” will be noted in the UNESCO in 2014 – 2015 in connection with the anniversaries of major events and prominent personalities.
Since May 19, at the headquarters of UNESCO, which is located in Paris, a photo exhibition and a concert dedicated to the life and work of Ilyas Afandiyev.At the opening event was the Secretary General of UNESCO, Irina Bokova,with official speech.
